The ASPIS Open Symposium is an annual meeting of the members of the ASPIS cluster formed by the three Horizon 2020 consortia: ONTOX, PrecisionTox, and RISK-HUNT3R, and the wider scientific community focusing on advancing the safety assessment of chemicals without the use of animal testing. The fourth annual ASPIS OS took place in Copenhagen, Denmark on 11-12 September 2024.
The meeting was entirely in-person.
Agenda
The symposium presented the latest work of the ASPIS cluster formed by the three Horizon 2020 consortia: ONTOX, PrecisionTox, and RISK-HUNT3R, focusing on the implementation of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for chemical risk assessment.
Day 1 – Wednesday 11 September (Tivoli Congress Centre)
- Opened to cluster members and external guests participating in the 58th Congress of the European Societies of Toxicology (EUROTOX).
Day 2 – Thursday 12 September (Technical University of Denmark)
- Invitation-only for internal focus.
Poster Submission
During an evening session on Day 1, all ASPIS cluster members had the opportunity to present their research through posters. This session stimulated discussions on pertinent scientific questions within PrecisionTox, ONTOX, and RISK-HUNT3R, fostering collaboration among partners.
Poster submissions focused on either:
- Research at PrecisionTox, ONTOX, or RISK-HUNT3R partner institutions directly contributing to ASPIS.
- Collaborative ASPIS Working Groups’ research.
ASPIS Academy
Following the poster session on Wednesday, 11th September, members of the ASPIS Academy organised a networking sightseeing tour of Copenhagen.
